Ben, I am just guessing here....
But, as you know, two developers using a code editor will configure it differently, some want more windows open at once, some want nested windows, so I assume that Vlad will want feedback not just on "bugs" but how V8 can be more efficient. We all know how often in V7 you have to drill down very far to make teeny-weeny changes.
Aware's huge advantage over other tools is the speed of development / maintenance. So I hope that the shiny new configurator will make all of us faster (and better looking? skinnier?). Knowing how Eclipse works, there are a lot of ways to design it so it exposes the information that we need without being too cluttered).
Of course, I suggest that every developer has a 38" high rez screen so we can have LOTS of windows open at once.
