Just let AIm support know in advance that you will be moving it. They will either give you a deactivation method, or just provide you with a new license. I had genuine concerns about AIM licensing as with my non AIM C/S licenses, users get new computers, replace old ones without telling you and then call you after the fact.
With Pervasive SQL after their trial and error, they have solved the problem with an email or phone call, and they deactivate the license on their license server, and then you are able to re license it. They actually allow this 25 times, but obviously in more then a few times on one license, I'm sure it would throw a red flag, which it should.
I recommended for AIM to implement this type of licensing which would take away a lot of anxiety but at the time they were reluctant, but I am not sure they got what I was saying. Because of this, I am very, very reluctant to install any onsite intranets. So I am only looking at SaaS applicatons where I deal with one license. In fact it took me a year to feel comfortable with the licensing period, and scared me away for 2 years. AIM is great but the licensing method can be a deal breaker for new users.
On a positive note: I did have a couple of crashes with AIM, which happens occasionally and AIM took care of me immediately, so I have no complaints, just concerns regarding the above.
