Lets say that when you started your Aware project (way in the past) you had no idea about the Calendar/Scheduler.
But watching Vlad's video makes it look so easy.
So, since you have a date field in your main BO, you'd like to play with the calendar via a Query on the existing BO.
It doesn't appear that you're able to make a Query be a "Calendar/Scheduler" type, UNLESS
you right-clicked on the BO Tree item and selected "Add Appointment Object" at the very beginning.
(Of course, if you had the insight to do that long ago, I'm not sure if there's a downside to using an Appt Object as a Customer Master or Order Header table.)
Now, someone could make a new Appt Object (with its required fields) and manually add all the main BO fields into it, but then you'd have to convert your entire App to use a diff. BO.
If someone decided they now want to use the Calendar, does it seem like the only option is to have a Process copy the main BO data (time, subject, etc.) into a new BO that it just used to gen the calendar (Basically, a temp/work file just for the Calendar query)?
Whenever you want to run this query you just gen the data beforehand?
jaymer...
PS _ Before you think this is stupid or non-realistic, a Calendar is just another visual way to look at data, same as a chart.
You didn't think you'd be charting when you started your app, so now you just dump data into a format for AnyChart and voila. A project I'm on already has data fit for a Calendar, but the process to clean the old file and load the new recs is a bit time consuming. Whereas if I could just use the existing file it would be immediate.
