FYI Just did a test w/Aware Images and JasperReports

OK, on another thread, I had posted something about what Bruce had said RE:Jasper
Mark replied that he had "given up" on Jasper because he couldn't get it to "work with aware images".
(I have heard this multiple times and decided to check it out.)

OK, in 40 minutes, having absolutely no idea what I was doing (I should have watched Bruce's Jasper webinar), I d/l and installed Jasper server on my AWS server.
I already had the Sales Portal installed, and I decided to go after the Employee Images in the Sales Portal.
I connected to the MS SQL db, stumbled my way to a new report, got an error, searched the web, found THIS page:

which was about the error I got.
Made a correction to my report and got this:

in 40 minutes

Does it seem a lot more involved than using BUILT-IN mini-jasper - YES, but Bruce's webinar (https://recordings.join.me/H18yES0KIEeSF4vodmiYsA) on how to integrate should help ease that pain.
But DANG, having all the report fields snap to grid is SOOOO awesome!

Add an image element from right list:
For Expression of this image use pcik the field from your DB (expression editor)

update....the Field has to be class.awt.Image
