Adding Search Icon to AwareIM search filter

Hello,

Is there a way to display a Search Icon next to or in the search filter that displays in the column header of a query?
The only option I can find is to change the search to display in the Filter of the drop down in the column heading, but that requires more steps for the user...

so you're saying that a white box above a data column isn't intuitive for a new user to realize that its a filter?
cause that won't be the case after 5 mins of using it.
You see that a date filter box has the date widget - which annoyingly takes up column width when I'm tight on space. And the Integer scroller is a bummer too - cause it eats up space. You have to make the column much wider than normal just to allow an account # to be see in the filter box, for example, or else the tiny white filter box may only show 1 or 2 digits.

I'd like to have a way to eliminate those widget icons in those cases - while you'd like to add an icon - LOL

The reason this issue came up was when a user opens a query with no records, they started typing in the search fields instead of clicking on the Add button.
It would be nice if the icon was inside the field so it didn't take up any extra space. Yes, I agree with you, the filter does take up a lot of space causing columns to be a lot wide that you would like. The only other option I know of is to set the filter up in the carrot drop-down menu, then you don't have all that wasted space.
This is what I may end up doing on certain queries.

I see how that could be confusing... but only a few times. At least he can't hurt anything by typing something in all the filter boxes.
(It normally would say "No items to display" in the lower right if they were paying attention)

we need to be able to eliminate that widget in filter box
would be nice to have dimmed "hint text" appear inside the filter box
use CSS to color filter boxes (inside or the border) so they look diff.

I have a query in 1,000,000 rows that sometimes takes a few seconds to appear.
(Search values are entered on a prior screen)
Its odd to the user - because there's no difference between
A - this query is taking a while, so no data has displayed...YET ... oh, there it is!
B - no data is ever going to be found - after 5 seconds you just figure thats the case
Would be nice if there were some options on a query
[ x ] Do this when Query result set is NULL
--> DISPLAY MESSAGE 'No records were found.'

Yeah, the other option is to create a VP and have your search fields either come from a non-persistent BO run a process to find your result and display the query or add search fields from the HTML option when setting up the VP and they will display above the query.
Without a lot of css/html the kendo control is limited. It would be nice if we had access to all those widgets in the control to turn them on or off and also show an icon.
