We get many questions about using "tall" controls (such as grids, text areas, HTML and HTML editor) next to ordinary attributes in multi-column forms. Many people are surprised that Aware IM does not resize the entire row to accommodate the height of the tall control used in a row.
There is a good reason for this. Form generation is row-based, i.e. if you put two attributes represented by "normal" (not tall) controls into the same row but in different columns they are GUARANTEED to line up properly. The control in the second column will never be higher or lower than the control in the first column. If the system allowed "tall controls" to change the height of the row, the entire mechanism would be violated and this guarantee would be impossible. So tall controls in multi-column forms use absolute positioning - they do not affect the flow of other rows. It becomes your responsibility to identify the issue and either force the row to be resized by using CSS (see below) or avoid using tall controls next to ordinary controls - it all depends on how you want your form to look like.
To force the row to be resized using CSS add the following to your CSS file:
.aw-column-multi .aw-html {
position: relative !important;
}
The above will override the default setting for ALL HTML controls in multi-column forms.
Or assign your own CSS class to a particular form and override for this form only:
.my-form-class .aw-column-multi .aw-html {
position: relative !important;
}
To do the same thing for grids use k-grid instead of aw.html in the CSS above.
