There must be a better way to do this. Here's my problem...
I'm trying to develop a change log that will be visible to customers of my tenancy app. I tried GET_CHANGES as a lazy approach, but the fact that it uses the attribute name instead of the label is ultimately a deal-killer (plus I can't control which changes get logged). If I want to preserve the ability to use Locale for translations, I need to use the label. How do you access an attribute's label in the rule language? The closest thing I could find was the TYPE function, but that only provides the BO of a group.
If there's no way to access the label in the rule, then I can think of two options:
Every change record includes ALL possible attributes that I want to log, regardless if they were actually changed. That's wasteful and won't look good. To make it look better, maybe I can hide/collapse attributes with empty values?
Create a BO of BOs, attributes and labels (AND their translations because that bypasses Locale), which would suck.
Any ideas?
