ACDC wroteI would really love to harness the power of Stored Procedures and Triggers in our apps in a more simpler way – “The AwareIM way”
Why not bring functionality into AwareIM where one can create Stored Procedures and Triggers inside AwareIM and then use it in the same way or within Processes and Object rules.
Being able to configure and generate stored procedures and triggers as an option from within AwareIM in the same simple way as the rest of the development process will be a game changer. This will let us use this option for speeding up the application where possible -- does this make sense or is it even possible or am I just dreaming?
Based on my recent deeper look into this, a READ-ONLY SP isn't so harmful to Aware's integrity, but Create/Update/Delete can break the Aware's integrity, in a live multi user system, where you could have lots of dirty records in server's context to be saved and a SP or trigger, make changes to DB when the Aware data manager has not committed itself to data changes in the context yet. This is not only with Aware, I recently did a test with .Net and EF (.Net data/orm manger) and data integrity became compromised.
So, I think by making SP more available in Aware, more people can cause more damage to data than they wished to.
