How To? Tabs Within A Panel on VP

Is it possible to put a tabbed section within a panel in a VP.

I know I can put tabs across the top of a VP and I know that I can put a layout of another VP inside a panel, but I can't figure out how to put tabs in a panel.

What I am trying to achieve is a query that shows on one tab a BO called Extent with a status of Exclusive and another tab with Extent with Status of Excluded

OOTB you can't do it in a pure sense if the Objects are not related.
You could relate/reference them and have a multi-tab Form in the Panel

As I feared annoyingly though you can't make a reference grid within a form stretch to the bottom of the screen, whereas a grid that is the result of a query can be stretched to the bottom of the screen.

What you wrote is only the case because Support hasn't set it up to stretch. But it could be done.
But meanwhile can simulate what you want in a number of ways:

Standard Query whose criteria is changed dynamically by clicking different buttons ("tabs")
2 HTML panel with Custom Query with real tabs

About 50% of my work arounds and 10% of processes would go away if grids in forms (and forms in general) could stretch to the bottom of the screen.

This is from the Kendo documentation site suggests automatic resizing but it seems to request the window size first, but I don't know how to identify the grid on the page or how to determine the wrapper size.

Individual Widget Resizing

Each Kendo UI widget has a resize() method which can be used to trigger a layout readjustment instead of using kendo.resize. The resize method of the widget accepts a single Boolean parameter, which defines whether the control should execute its layout adjustment algorithm even if the widget dimensions have not changed ("force" mode).

Apply resize() Method

The example below demonstrates how to use the resize() method.

Update - Forms with Queries within them (i.e. PM or OM) can now stretch to the bottom of the screen in V8.
