Registration outside of AwareIM guest VP

Hi,

I have a process starting in Guest VP which hangs out frequently, at least this is shown in server log:

2017-04-22 09:37:16,359  -35 Process RegisterNewCompany with id 96808 from process group 96808 has timed out

It will be better to use a html form in website and pass the data to the BO? Is anyone using this method?

Yes. We use Machform.com to publish about 60+ forms that feed into a MySQL db that we pick up the data from using aware. It cheap, it's bullet proof, we can make form changes without publishing, you can embed the forms in other websites, and we can completely CSS style the forms. It's also 100% up (if we are publishing then aware isn't available). There's a lot of advantages.

So am I right to assume you specify the MachForm data tables as external BO in Aware and then bring the data in Aware BOs

WOW .. that's definitely worth exploring .. especially when you can license and install on your own server very cost effectively.

Yes correct.

Buy, install with separate DB (note you need php on the webserver, so we don't put it on our Aware prod DBs, we just run a small AWS instance of it with an RDS db. Then aware picks it up as an external table, so it appears as a BO.

From there, there's a few ways to do it...

Scheduled process check table and imports, marking collected records with a flag/attribute
mach forms has a webservice call, so you can set it up to call Aware and run a process (first command) to import the data from the table (thus avoiding a time delay on the scheduled process

I think the PHP's engine is just gonna take more resources from Aware.

Hi Tom - it can co-exist, we just got port conflicts, which needed attending to at each upgrade of Aware. So we just set it up on a different server to avoid it.
