Well .. it's been exactly 10 years ago today that I opened my AwareIM forum account. Thanks to the generous help of Pete Bradstreet (pbrad) and of course, Vladimir, during the first few months I tackled learning the new paradigm of rules based processing of AwareIM. I was amazed at what I was able to accomplish once I understood the basics.
I was looking for a way to solve a challenge in an international logistics business that I co-owned at the time. Googled helped me find, download, and trial a LOT of different options. Each one came up short for a variety of reasons. Every product I looked at didn't have a particular "must have" feature, price was too high for our budget, or when I sent a message to support I got a very corporate answer (which was rarely really an answer).
Then, after clicking through many pages of Google results, I stumbled on AwareIM. While the product seemed to meet my "must have" list and had a price that fit our budget, I was most impressed with the level of responsiveness to my support inquiries .. both to better understand the tool and also a receptivity to tweaking & adding features. If you can imagine the early on, things like "auto-refresh" didn't exist. Time and time again, as I presented Vladimir with parts of AwareIM that could work a bit more effectively or efficiently, magically he would tackle them and they would show up in a new build or a new version.
Keep up the great work, Vladimir! Can't wait to see all the new goodies in V8!
