Custom Tab Title when selecting Record in Query

I am trying to do the following:

I have a query of customers, when a user clicks on a customer, the default operation does the following
LoggedInRegularUser.selectedCustomer = Customer
Display Layout .....

The output is new tab and when I click on the tab options, i have the custom title set to:
<<LoggedInRegularUser.selectedCustomer.name>> Orders
but all I see is the word Orders.
(I have tried it with <<Customer.name>> Orders and I get the same result)

What am I doing wrong?

I have a default process in a query that assigns the selected record to RegularUser and it opens a new tab. The Tab title is set to <<LoggedInRegularUser.sc_VendorName>> POs and all I get is "POs"

I found going from the query to the records form in a tab i had to put the attribute reference in the caption section of the form. Anywhere else it did not work.
