[solved] Help Needed With Data Search

I'm trying to achieve the following. I'm eagerly seeking a solution or an alternative way to achieve the end result, as I'm stuck without one or the other. This is a rewording of a previous question into a form that I hope might make some sense.

I have two BOs - MyBO and SearchBO.
I am creating a new instance of MyBO, and I'm filling in its data through its main form.
At one point, I need to search SearchBO using MyBO.PhoneNumber as a search parameter.
I need to fill in MyBO.Country on the form with the result of this search (SearchBO.Country)
The search needs to be initiated from a button (as it's optional).

I can call a process from an html button, but I cannot perform a FIND inside it (failed with not allowed during initialisation).

Is there a way to do this? Am I missing the point somewhere?

I've tried so many things now that I'm a little snow blind I think.

The fact that you are creating the MyBO object could be a problem. One way to get around is to create a blank object first in some process and then edit it, rather than create new. For example,

CREATE MyBO NO RULES
VIEW MyBO

Then you can add an HTML button to start a process in a popup window that would do a search and populate the Country attribute.

You will probably also need a scheduling process to clean up blank MyObj entries if the user didn't populate them properly and abandoned them.

I have to set the form to "auto-save when closed or abandoned" else I get prompted to save the form, which is why I guess you mentioned the litter that will need to be periodically cleaned up?
