BLOMASKY I have a text field that I want to control the background color of the line on the query. The condition is <> '' but I can't figure out how to enter that. Is that possible? bruce

tford If IS DEFINED doesn't work for you, perhaps you could create a SystemSettings attribute to compare it to.

IS UNDEFINED is not the same as "empty" for text or numeric attribute. I now initializes all my numeric attributes with "0" and check for "0" and not null.
