It must be the enhanced support for external tables ... (Damn! if that was around when I started my app, life would have been so much better. Could have used my fav. ER tool to build and document the DB...) but it wasn't...

Its the ability to open a layout in a popup! Yea, that is my FAV. feature.

Vlad, Let me say that I am impressed with the feature list in V7.1 and will wait patiently for 7.2! At this rate, you will keep me (and my customers smiling...)

Of course, if I was picky, what I really would like would be:
1) Event triggered whenever a Tab gets focus

2) Easy way to zero suppress a field

2A) To add on to this, would be nice to have a dynamic formatting of fields (could be done in styles), so for instance f an integer, have it formatted, #,### but if decimal, then show the decimal places

3) date and timestamp a BSV with latest changes. I go from server to laptop and do my best to remember which one has the latest version. Would be nice to see that when I open a business space

4) More cowbell! (oh wait, thats for the music.. never mind..)

I wish I had kept a "my fav feature" list for each new version since I found AwareIM in March 2007 .. that would be fun to reflect on.

For example, today it's hard to imagine AwareIM without auto-refresh of forms and queries ... yes, it really did exist .. and AwareIM was still an amazingly powerful tool before auto-refresh.

Bruce, don't you also want a SWITCH TO TAB Action so if a Customer, Order, etc. is already being Edited, etc., and the user selects it again from a list, then instead of opening the Instance again, you can instead just Switch display to the Tab in which the Instance is already being Edited? (which the system would know because Objects would have a Flag attribute which contains the ID of the Tab in which it is already open, if open)

My favorite feature is the ability to go to the definition of a process, object or attribute from operations, menu of visual perspectives and business rules (by pressing the Control button there).

Bet, most people don't even suspect this feature exists. Saves heaps of time in large applications.

And Bruce, as well as being able to run a process when '1) Event triggered whenever a Tab gets focus', wouldn't you also like to be able to run a process when a Tab is closed, so you have complete control over the Tab part of the UX (except for reordering tabs)?

For example, open a rule and highlight the name of a BO ... press Ctrl+click .. the BO will open.

Also if you are in an operation that starts a process, for example, there is a little button next to the drop down showing the process name. If you click on that button it takes you to the definition of the process.

Same thing in a menu in a visual perspective.

Also, there is a Find Element command. Select business space version, right click, select Find Element from the popup menu. Then enter the full or partial name of a process/object/query you want to find and Aware IM will show it to you.
