Thunder,
Actually, I was offered the position of Global Moderator, which I had to decline as I am too busy finishing writing a book, 'Are men still men, or have endocrine disrupting chemicals turned them into girls?'.
Man-up! Shake that 'offencerati' precious petal dainty fragile mollycoddled snowflake soft Western mindset.
I am assisting in solving an issue, by reiterating the correct procedure and process for reporting Bugs (well established, and which works), which is something that support has stated in this Forum what must be hundreds or even thousands of times.
It is utterly ridiculous that the same thing needs to be stated over and over and over again, and people still do not follow it, then get frustrated that nothing gets done, doesn't get done quickly, or needs further communications sent chasing it up.
My initial post was an insurance policy to ensure this does not happen again.
It was completely cordial and VERY "helpful".
This is how humans work:
- they don't follow the correct procedure
- then they complain or make a wrong decision or form an incorrect opinion when something doesn't happen as they want
- but they do not blame themselves for it not happening as they wanted because they did not follow the correct procedure. Instead they blame someone else.
I am all for critique/criticism where it's due, AND compliments where due. If something doesn't work in Aware as it should I say so.
But equally when something does work, it deserves its reputation to NOT be undermined by human: lack of attention to detail skills, un-thoroughness, carelessness, etc.
I had already suggested what to do (by reiterating the established procedure yet again) to ensure the correct procedure is subsequently followed, so as to make sure the Bug gets addressed by support. ie. attempt to help others help themselves.
If sufficient attention to detail was not exercised so as to read and ingest a couple of lines I wrote, then I am not going to spend any more time in doing it all over again.
I am going to bring it to their attention in the quickest most time efficient manner, without giving a damn about 'PC'.
But, equally, I am also not going to be outright offensive and write something like: "can't you read?".
I respect when respect is due/earned. Not just to be 'polite'.
If I screw up, I do not get upset or offended if someone tells me so, irrespective if how they tell me.
I'm sure eyles is man enough to recognise he did not follow the established Bug procedure as I described, and will subsequently post it in the 'Problem reports' forum.
And, who is Purist (you wrote) anyway? Or is that another example of the attention to detail issue which humans seem to have that I describe?
