Renaming Objects & Attributes etc

Can objects, attributes, business rules etc be renamed and will all cross references be automatically adjusted?
I tried renaming some objects and attributes, but Aware IM seemed to get a bit confused.
Are there any best practices for doing this?

Places where you use "Applicability"or "Availability" or menus and a few other places, Aware doesn't see the changes in the data model and then those conditions will stop working. Be very careful when you make changes, then you have to manually change those areas as well.

But generally, AwareIM does a good job of handling name changes in objects.

In the Library example I renamed the BO Item to "ItemMLQ". I got some error messages and renamed it back to Item.

Now I have 2 error messages both saying "Operation 'Reserve' used in form 'Editing' of 'Item' uses business object 'ItemMLQ' which has not been found"

Problem is although I can change the Process Input Value in the form back to "Item" (see attached file) it won't save that value. When I reopen the form it is still has the value of "ItemMLQ".

Any idea how I can correct this?

You need to click under value heading and change it to "Item". If that's what you referring to.

Best to delete this operation and re-create it. As I told you, changing attributes name is a risky business. Best to avoid it as possible.

Also, check the BorrowItem2 Process to make sure the Input Object is Item and not ItemMLQ.
