SOLVED: Document Upload Error

Hey guys,

In my business object called Regulars I set an attribute called Brief which a Document set to store on Database.

When I go into test mode and try upload a Word doc I get the following: Internal system errorTransaction exception Error persisting business object Regulars Unknown column 'Brief_DOCDATA' in 'field list'

Anyone ever seen this?

UPDATE: after attempting to delete the Brief attribute, now if I try go into test mode it says:

Exception changing status of the business space version Aware IM server encountered the following error. Error dropping columns for table BASTESTDOMAINCRM_REGULARS Can't DROP 'Brief_DOCTYPE'; check that column/key exists

ANOTHER UPDATE: when I originally set up the Brief attribute, I had it set to file system instead of database. Whoever set up the server for us many moons ago had set the Aware IM folder to be uneditable so I couldn't set a path. So I went back and changed it to Database storage which seemed to stuff everything up. I had to go in via phpmyadmin and re-add that column (nervously as I'd never used phpmyadmin for anything like that) and that seemed to fix it.

Your database got out of synch with your BSV but you corrected manually. We all strive to avoid this but I have had an occasion or two when I had to manually create or purge a table for the same reasons. This is not AwareIM's fault. All configurators will attest that our most import concern is to use the configuration tool in such a way that it won't have a negative impact on the database. There are a few ways to use the configuration tool in a manner that it may not be able to make the necessary database changes or you end up with an exception error. Example, create an object, remove an object, re-create an object all before publishing. When configuring objects (other than presentation) or their relationships, you are configuring the database. Do those tasks in such a way that it's not confusing to the processes that configure the database when you publish. Make your object changes with deliberation and publish.
