Format attribute on Styles Form

In BO / Attribute / Presentation, there is a popup STYLES form. One of the fields on that form is "format". What and how can that be used? Is it just to format numeric fields (i.e. put commas or decimal points in numbers?)

The reason I ask, is that I have an integer field called "length" it is between 1 and 20 and the unit of measure is FEET (Yea, I know, we should be on the metric system, but alas.)

I would like to have this field displayed with an appostrophie after it. I.e: 16'

Yea, I could create an additional attribute called lengthString and every time the length is changed, have a rule that formats the # and adds the ' to the end, but is there an easy way to format the # and have the ' appended to the end.

Format in attribute styles is useful when you have conditional formatting. In your case you can try "#'" format but I am not sure it's going to work in forms (there are more chances it will in 7.1)

Otherwise, you can put ' symbol as "attribute description" in forms and use "display format" of "#'" in queries.
