RUNTIME: Goes to previous versions and deletes fields and in

Hello!

I have a developers version 5.9 and no problem.
Deployed an app creating a RUNTIME, and OK, no problems.
The runtime worked fine, no problems.

Then I got a request to make some changes. Created a new fields, and some reports. (easy stuff)
Made this in my developer machine, and exported the BSV and copy it to the RUNTIME machine and PUBLISHED the new BSV with the changes and GREAT!

But after a couple of days, it appers like no changes were made and all the info (fields) are gone. In the App as well as in the database.

Then I work like this, and keeps on happening. Sometimes takes longer.

Dont know what to do. Im scared,

Have no idea of an answer as I would not have thought this was even possible and have certainly not seen this sort of behaviour.

However, the first thing that popped into my head is.... have you deleted ALL of the Obsolete Versions?

If not, I would again establish you latest correct version that is running and then export it and backup the database. Then I would delete all of the Obsoletes.

Yes, I have deleted all previous versions.

But, I have just found out, that this happens only when AwareIM Runtime Server is started. Lets say that I make an upgrade. Works, runs great. Until for some reason the server needs to be rebooted. This is when it seem to take an older version.

It also seems that it has to be with a file called: app.bsv

I don't suppose you have an old bsv sitting in the AUTO_DEPLOYMENT folder?

I noticed in 5.x that the runtime installation plops a file called app.bsv into the Autodeployment folder. I noted it to Support and I recently updated a runtime client on 7.0 and did not see the issue. But after installing a runtime update, make sure there is nothing in the AUTO_DEPLOYMENT folder. At some point, put your updated BSV in there and restart the control panel or Java services if running as a service.

So, if you put your new version in there and it is the ONLY file in there and then restart the Control Panel..... After a few seconds, does the file disappear?

Yes and it goes to the Deployed folder. This is my preferred method of updating. I have a batch file to stop and start both services. I trigger the batch file for the middle of the night. I put my BSV in the AUTO_DEPLOYMENT folder and push my new BSV. Works like champ.

Thank you Kklosson. Sorry, my version was 6.0. I should then have a BSV called "App.BSv" with the latest update of my app in the Auto_deployment, or should it be empty?

Thank you guys! you are great. This worked. I followed this steps and worked.

Stoped AwareIM
I emptied the folder Auto_deployment. (had a app.bsv file in it)
Copy a new update named app.BSV in the folder Auto_deployment
Started AwareIm and it auto updated.
And at the end the file delete it self.

I used to update like that but these days I most update via the browser.

I find that much more efficient and saves me having to RDP into the server.

Just need to go in occasionally and delete the Obsoletes.
