Create & use query statements?

Hi;

When we write "Find Customer WHERE Customer.Balance > 100" in a query , we write this condition in the editor of Aware at design time.

Question: Can I have that query statement stored in database (say CustomerQuery object) and retrieve the query statement at runtime and use it with query engine?

I want user to create filter and query and then save them and be able use them later.
Can we do something like this?

Ben some questions:

1). In your example you have "balance > 100" as the filter. Would your users just have 1 field (like balance) and you want them to be able to store diff. amounts (100, 500, 0, etc.) or do you want them to be able to also filter on State = 'CT'?

2). A single filter or a combination with AND / OR?

3). How do you expect your users to enter the filters? Will they know all of the attribute names or do you want to give them a sort of GUI for them to pick the attribute, operator and condition?

I'm going through these questions in my head. Generally I have to expose a series of related attributes and allow them to create a filter selection so I can then create a query from them. I want to think of creating limited runtime query in Aware.

A while back I worked on a BSV to allow users to have "Saved Search" criteria, then later select which search criteria they wanted to use.

I believe it involved the "active" search using attributes stored in LoggedInRegularUser and saving / recalling the criteria in a CustomerQuery object like you mentioned. The CustomerQuery object had the ability to name each search & I believe even allow for a particular customer's Saved Search to be flagged & made available for use by all users.
