Firstly, thanks to Support for that great Optimization video.
Working on app optimization now. Going through all the rules to see if I can revise "Cross Reference" rules to "On -demand" process rules.
Sometimes when I have loops within loops that have cross reference rules, it can really bring the system down (Not aware's fault, just how it works), now I'm investigating aggregate & cross reference rules of objects that are specially involved in loop processes.
My app has simple UI (but a lot of work behind the scene). After two years of development, I need to put it under microscope to make sure it's fully optimized.
This past weekend, I optimized a process that used to take 90 seconds (for 30 replications) to 42 seconds, and now I see there are several cross-reference and aggregate rules in those inner loops that create ripple effects and use a lot of CPU and Disk I/O. If I can optimize these rules properly, I can speed up the replication process, which is very resource hungry.
I thought I share this with others to look into these two type of rules that are expensive and resource hungry especially in loops.
