When a user uploads a file as a document object, it can be taxing on my system if the file is very large. I have a rule which prohibits uploading files > 5mb, so it won't be stored in the database. But the file has to be uploaded in order to be measured and based on what I see in the logs, this can be very taxing. In some cases, I believe it may be crashing the application. So I would like to implement a client-side script that checks the file size before it actually uploads. I don't know how to write the script or where to stick it. Willing to pay a consulting fee.
