Push notifications on phone

Hello,

Is there a way to show a notification on a mobile Phone? A bit the same like when you see a message icon when a new email is send to your device.
Anyone who has done this with Aware??

In order for "DISPLAY MESSAGE ASYNC" to work and show the message to the client side, that means, the AwareIM client must be up and running to receive this. Whereas, Push Notification, is a background service running on Phone's OS and receives special messages via Notification Chanel and displays to user. Plus Notifications service can queue up the messages for you and has many features.

A Push notification can come from a sever to client or from client to client. It's a very powerful feature in the Mobile platform. In Aware's case, both can be added, from server like an email being sent to mobile and from client via phongap notification service to another client.

1+ for real push notifications and client to client is IMO not really needed (not from start at least).

1+ Push notifications are very much used in all mobile apps. Most users just drag the top of the mobile screen and see the activity that they are being notified about, and then they can hit that option such as an email, text message, etc. and it will go into the app. I would always go into my various apps, until I was shown how the notifications work. In addition, many phones have a flashing light that lets you know a notification has come in, so then just drag down and check it. Only took me two year sto figure out why the light was flashing (good to have a savy 10 year old kid explain it ) to us older guys.
