UMM, YES.
You NEVER, EVER want to index a field with limited choices.
What happens, assume there are 1,000 records, 1/2 Yes, 1/2 No. The way the system finds a match is with a binary search (divides rows in 1/2 until it finds a match then goes back ONE RECORD at a time to find the beginning. So, in this case, divides records in 1/2, and lucky you, found the Yes (or No), then it has to back up ONE record at a time, to find the 1st one.

Also, same when inserting. has to find the "right" place to insert and does same thingy.
