Is your wrapper 64-bit?

kklosson

If you run AwareIM as a service and use 64-bit JVM, this article implies that you must have the 64-bit wrapper as well. The respondent seems knowledgeable. I installed the 64-bit wrapper a while back. I can't say it changed anything. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to know for sure that the JVM is getting all of the memory I have allocated.

The good news is that, when next version of AwareIM comes with the 64-bit installation, all these will be behind us... Can't wait! 🙂

I have just installed the newest AwareIM 7.1 version; and couldn't start it. I noticed that the installation now ships with a 64 Bit JVM by default; and my OS is (unfortunately) still Win XP Pro 32 Bit ... Is there still the possibility to install a 32 Bit version of AwareIM 7.1 ? That is runnable in my current env ? If yes: How can I get access to a runnable 32 Bit version of AwareIM 7.1 ?

verlsnake,

The following is from the second page of the posting at https://forum.awareim.com/d/9034

For those running 32-bit Windows.

Download Java 8 32-bit JDK from the Oracle site.

Replace the AwareIM/JDK folder in 7.1 with the downloaded JDK.

Put the file tools.jar from the downloaded JDK to AwareIM/Tomcat/lib

Hello Bob !

Thanks a lot for Your quick answer ! WRT AwareIM, I have been living under a rock for almost a decade 🙂! So yes: Please tell long-time admirers of AwareIM already during the download process what the AwareIM realities are at the beginning of 2017: Default JVM is 64 Bit; UI platform is the world-renowned Kendo Ui; etc. pp.

Cheers and Thanks again
