BLOMASKY I want to use DISPLAY URL and open a new tab, (which it does very well, thank you!), but the URL is now the tab heading, and i am sending a LOT of parameters. Is there a way to hide the URL or the shorten the tab heading? Thanks Bruce
rob_h7 Create a VP called URLStuff On Main frame content panel tab, click Tab Settings &rename to whatever you want your tab called (ie 'External URL 1'). make the contents of your panel the process that calls your URL Create a new process that goes: DISPLAY LAYOUT 'URL' FROM_VP URLStuff Call that process from your menu with output = new tab It'll display your URL in a tab titled 'External URL 1'
Jaymer thx for helping. i tried it, but it kept opening a brand new browser window. not sure if you guys are talking about a browser tab, or an aware tab. in either event, no joy - but its 3:30 am so I might have done something wrong.
BLOMASKY Rob, I followed all of your instructions, but I STILL get the URL on the tab. I am using V7 and Chrome. Have any suggestions???? Thanks Bruce
BLOMASKY More information. If I don't have 'NEW TAB' at the end of the process that runs the report: 'DISPLAY URL ..... NEW TAB' then there is NO output. It does not matter if the menu has default or new tab. If I have NEW TAB at the end of the DISPLAY URL then a new tab is opened with the very long URL. Bruce
