SOLVED Defaults overridden in data entry by rules when savin

In data entry, I enter an item # and rules set some default values from my product master.
When I save, the manual says that rules fire again when the form is submitted.
Problem is that I see my fields reset to the defaults (cause the rules fire again).

how can I prevent this?

Try to check the "Do not use rule anywhere else" (advanced tab of a Rule)

that did it.
Vlad told me 2 days ago.
I think the wording on that could also be "Execute on client only". that may be confusing to some ppl though. In the user guide, it says that rules are evaluated when the form is submitted - so thats why my defaults were getting set back.

Thanks for sharing Vladimir's definition of this setting. Will have to keep this in mind as I write new applications.
