Hyperlink in reference table (Custom View)

Hi all,

but let me explain my scenario:

Task BO has reference the TaskNote BO (peer one to many)
I have a form in Task BO with TaskNote as reference which is CUSTOM VIEW and I want to add a link to edit the reference record.

In these reference records I have this link:
<a href="javascript: void(0);" onClick="AwareApp.startProcessFromForm ('EDITProcess','main',this,false)" title="ChangeNote"><i class="icon-refresh icon-spin"></i> Change Note</a>

The process looks like this:
FIND TaskNote WHERE TaskNote.ID=Task.Notes.ID
EDIT TaskNote USING EditByStaff

In process I think I should add something else because it opens the edit form, but always with same record (not the selected one).Something "AND ThisTaskNote=TaskNote"...I'm stucked here...

Any advice would be much appreciated.

why not just have an Edit or Run process item operation button and make it the default?
even though the button won't be shown on the item it will still be there so to speak, and clicking/tapping the Custom reference record will trigger the button and thus Edit/Process

Tried that, but doesn't work with custom view.

That's strange. It does for me. Perhaps there is something in the Custom code which erroneously prevents/overrides the Default item operation.
Check out the attached BSV.
Run it, click the "create 'dummy' req's" in the bottom panel toolbar of the query in the main frame, then switch to the "Tile" tab in the right frame or the "..Tile" tab in the main frame (4th tab). That query is a Custom layout.
Now click a tile and a tab will open.
Now check out the query: "qryALLReqsItemsTile", to confirm there is an item operation button which is set as a Default operation, which is what is opening the tab.

I think it's a confusion. You say about query. I talk about form and reference(custom view), please read above.

The default operation for a row is working for me as well.

Are you using the "Operation within Items" menu item in the upper right hand menu of the Reference Element form?

Per your screen shot, you'd have to close the Custom View form to get to it.

I actually like the approach you were taking here in that it provides more control/UX flexibility.

I was able to get it to work using startProcess2, rather than startProcessFromForm.

startProcess2(processName, ctxObjectName, ctxObjectId, renderOption)

So your onClick would look something like this ...

onClick="startProcess2('EDITProcess', 'TaskNote', {ID}, 'main')"

In EDITProcess

Set the Process Input to TaskNote
Remove your FIND action leaving you with one action ... EDIT TaskNote USING EditByStaff

I believe that startProcessFromForm is passing the context of the parent object Task associated with the form, so it doesn't really apply for reference objects.

It works indeed. Never used startProcess2 (I guess I have to test this more).
