Phongap Feature Request List

BenHayat

Although, there is another thread regarding Phongap and some discussions, but I thought I would open a NEW thread that is ONLY a list of Feature Requests by members and not discussions to keep the thread lean for Support to go through.
This way, please just state your FR and keep it to the point.

After some more research to see what other products offer as part of their hybrid offerings (using Phonegap), here is my list of services that are the most commonly offered and developers can provide them to their users.

Thank you Tom!

In my app, when the trainer pulls of a client's account, there are many times that they try to call the client. The Telephony allows him to tap on the phone number and then through Phongap, it will start the Phone's calling app, while Aware app is still running.
Similarly, with the email address, to send email by tapping the email address. These are the type of features that users use with others apps all day.

Contacts - Top of the list is access to contacts, with the ability to execute AIM processes from the contact list.
Notifications - Ability to send push notifications and when user clicks on Notification, executes AIM process. Ex; Currently I receive txt notification or email notification, etc. and when I hit the notification, it opens up the SMS, Email, and with AIM, we would want to start an AIM process.
GPS - Need ability to trigger location at any time in AIM. Ex; Employee going arriving at job site, hits button to mark starting date/time. Would want to get GPS location at that moment. So knowing that employee marked his start/end times at the job location, (was where he is supposed to be).

3b. GPS trigger example of tracking deliveries, etc.

AIM pop-up messaging needs options. Currently, it appears then disappears. It needs an option to work like all messaging systems where it scrolls up and each message is displayed so you can see the conversation history.
Remember User Name/Login after first login. CRITICAL, and every app does this.
I'm going to pull out an old app where it was completely mobile-based but could not do it due to missing features in V6. This will refresh me so I can complete the critical items for this list.

I am not really sure what is Phonegap and what is Aware/mobile specific features but here is the list of things I think about as the most important things (at least for starters):

Local credential management i.e option in the Phonegap app to handle, save etc. credentials so the user doesn't have to log in each time (the option for autologin should ideally exist i.e the user type in their credentials 1 time and the when the app is launched the saved credentials are used).
App style options like option to configure appicon, title, splashscreen etc. etc..
Offline access. I would be satisfied with a professional inapp logic or message that would tell the user to go online to use the app for starters and would work for most scenarios.
Push notifications
GPS improvement, a function so we can log coordinates when we want and just that in rules, processes etc..
Access to smartphone features like GPS, calendar, contacts etc.. The things above are more important IMO
