Error: unable to View Edit unresolved object

HI,
Goal is to Put HTML code into a cell of a form and display that form through Process.

Here is what i am doing:
Created an object: "CustomerStats"

Attributes:

AllCustomers
MaleCustomers

FemaleCustomers
Added Rules:

CustomerStats.AllCustomers  = COUNT Customer

CustomerStats.MaleCustomers = COUNT Customer WHERE (Customer.Gender='Male')

CustomerStats.FemaleCustomers = COUNT Customer WHERE (Customer.Gender='Female')

Created a Process: "ShowCustomerStats"
Added Two Rules:
1 Rule: FIND ALL CustomerStats
2 Rule: VIEW CustomerStats

Then i added this process in a panel from VP --> Administrator --> main --> Panel. and selected this process "ShowCustomerStats" as result of a process.

Now when i run this it says "unable to View Edit unresolved object" and doesn't show anything in that respected panel.

I am trying to follow the same thing which is there in Sample Application "IssueResolution" --> VP --> Administrator --> Dashboard Tab --> main --> "Progress" panel which shows a result of a process "ViewProgress".

Everything works fine in that application but i also followed this on CRM (for Customer object) but mine is not working.

Can any body help? Where am i doing it wrong?

How are you getting "CustomerStats" Object into the Context?
The codes you showed, didn't show that you just created the "CustomerStats" Object or used a FIND to bring it into Context.

You must first have the "CustomerStats" object in the context before you can apply changes.

I highly recommend to read the user guide related to "Context". You must learn it well, since anything you do with data, boils down to dealing with Context.
That's the best suggestion I can give you at this point.

I will surely go through that. But doing "practically" in the steps i mentioned.. Can you please tell me how? What is missing?

As I explained to you in PM, you must first do a proper FIND to find the Object that you're trying to apply those counts. This will bring the Object into the context and then you can apply the counts.
Basically, in your process, find the object first (the error you got, means Aware doesn't have the object in Context).

I got it what it should be.. I should specify first which object i am looking for, then AwareIM will show it..

and you told me

all i am asking is "HOW?"
How can i tell it in the process? What rule will it be?

Can anyone help please?

I strongly suggest you go through the Library Case Study in the documentation. It will guide you through many of the basic AwareIM concepts. There is no shortcut for learning these basics.

Yeah, going over 1) sample apps and 2) documentation is the recommended way of trying to figure out how Aware works.

You do have what you need though it seems in your post. Here is an example of how you can do (below are actions for the processes):

First of all you need to create the actual CustomerStats instance:

CREATE CustomerStats with CustomerStats.Identifier='1'

Second you need a process that updates and optionally opens the instance:

FIND CustomerStats WHERE CustomerStats.Identifier='1'
CustomerStats.AllCustomers  = COUNT Customer
CustomerStats.MaleCustomers = COUNT Customer WHERE (Customer.Gender='Male')
CustomerStats.FemaleCustomers = COUNT Customer WHERE (Customer.Gender='Female')
VIEW CustomerStats

You can also divide these 2 things into 2 processes if you want to update the CustomerStats automatically:
Auto update:

FIND CustomerStats WHERE CustomerStats.Identifier='1'
CustomerStats.AllCustomers  = COUNT Customer
CustomerStats.MaleCustomers = COUNT Customer WHERE (Customer.Gender='Male')
CustomerStats.FemaleCustomers = COUNT Customer WHERE (Customer.Gender='Female')

Find and view:

FIND CustomerStats WHERE CustomerStats.Identifier='1'
VIEW CustomerStats

HI Talal,

All of these questions is about an approach which can be solved in a 5 min screen share and are the basic principles of AIM app design. But allow me to explain an high-level concept.

Think like this:

Step 1) You need data in a data base so you create the Object Model. - This is the same as building the Database. (Object = Table) etc..

Step 2) Once you have an Object, then you can essentially put data in it if you have an Interface. So you need to create a Visual Perspective and add a button to a Toolbar to "Create Object" - which uses the Form.

Step 3) Now you have data in AIM but what next. If you want to look at all of it, in rows like data grid you have to define a Query (like all software development). This query is defined like SQL but using a nice user interface.

Step 4) No you have data and a query to show your entered data...

Now your journey begins from this point..

I think you reached this point likely but if you look at the all of the High-level entities in AIM the core are

** Object & Attributes (and Forms)
** Visual Perspectives
** Queries
** Processes

If you have a process, it can be called with a record passed to it (for instance, if it is a button on the same row as a record in a query, or it might not have anything passed to it.
If you want the record to update the customerStats record (and assume there is only one
you 1st have "FIND CustomerStats TAKE BEST 1"
Next you want to update an attribute with the # of customers. since you have not mentioned if they are related records, you could do the following
FIND ALL Customers
CusttomerStats.numberCustomers=SEARCH_COUNT()
FIND Customers WHERE sex = 'MALE'
CustomerStats.numberMale = Search_Count()
...
...

However, a better way would be, in the CustomerStats BO, create a relationship to customers. (lets call it "relatedCustomers" (sorry Mark, I know you have a much better naming convention)
This relationship is of type Customers

Now, your process would be
FIND CustomerStats Take Best 1
CustomerStats.numberOfCustomers = COUNT Customers WHERE (Customers In CustomerStats.relatedCustomers)
CustomerStats.numberOfDudes = COUNT Customers WHERE (Customers in CustomerStats.relatedCustomers and Customers.sex = 'Male'
...
...

Does this make sense?

BTW, if this was called from a query (or form) where the CustomerStats record was already selected, then you can skip the FIND.
