I finally know why i get millions of these files in my webapps directory.
When i designed my application, i saved a company banner/image to the systemsettings business object. In the header i call this object via html ( <<SystemSettings.CompanyBanner>>), so AwareIM outputs that picture to the 'webapps' directory and then uses it to render the picture in the browser.
After the session completes, AwareIM does not remove the outputted file and leaves it as an orphan in the file system.
To get around this issue, i have made up a cronjob that just deletes the generated files. It would be nice for AwareIM to keep track of exported files and remove these temp files once the session terminates. However for now i am able to delete the files at some ungodly hour as part of maintenance.
