One of the best decisions and implementation of V7, is the ability to build a Desktop counterpart on Mobile. Unless you have gone through the frustrations in the past, you would not appreciate the value of this feature as much.
I'm actually in the middle of re-doing my [complex] Mobile app. You don't realize how much you need a grid in a business app, until you don't have it. Now, Not only we have grid, but we also have nested grid.
I used to have 11 programs/menu items to show certain data, Now with nested grid, it's down to 2 items on the menu. Imagine how much simpler it is for the user. I used to have lots of deep cascading search forms to show an item, now user can simply drill down on the grid and go to the item.
Hopefully the Phonegap and access to Phones services will follow soon and we will have a full scale tool to build hybrid app that can use Phone device services.
