Accessing and manipulating BOs using Javascript

As a new user I am exploring possibilities with AwareIM. Here is the scenario and question:

Lets say I have 5 lastname records in table (BO) Person. Using a html tab panel (i.e. from a visual perspective) I want to extract each of these records using a java script loop into js variables. In pseudocode it would read something like this:

j = Person.TotalNumberOfRecords()
Person.GoToFirstRecord()
For i = 1 to j
    Variable.(i) = Person.LastName
Next i

Consequently, I have 5 variables that contain the 5 lastnames from the table / BO. This enables me to use these 5 lastnames in a separate algorithm in a web environment external to AwareIM. The question is - how do I use javascript to access the Person.lastname records / items from the Person BO.

Also, it would also be useful to know how I could post back to the appropriate records in the Person BO with the values that are modified in the javascript routine. In other words in pseudocode:

For i = 1 to j
  Person.GoToRecord(i)
    Person.LastName  :=  ModifiedVariable.(i) 
Next i

I presume there is AwareIm syntax needed here that can operate in JS. Answer to this question will be most helpful.

Rob, welcome to AwareIM;

I don't know where documents are to expose Aware as a "REST" service. This might be a direction to look into.

Now, i am using MSSQL which has a pretty powerful scripting options. I am not sure what is avail with other backend databases... but I am using Stored procedures to do the following:

1) Take input from an aware form, run some calculation and update one or more attributes of an existing table

2) Same as #1, but also create new records in one or multiple B/O's with all of the required relationships

3) same as #2 but only display (return the results) of a Stored procedure without create any rows in a B/O. (so, sort of a virtual query. There are limitations as to what I can do with this, so I usually use 1 or 2

Where do you want to access it? What is displayed on the screen when you want to access it? A grid with the records, a form of the Person object?
