Multi Term Search - Revisited

I posted a link recently for a Demo site that allowed Multiple Term Search on 1,000,000 TEXT Attributes.

I decided to push that a bit further (still on the same tiny EC2 Instance).

I wanted A LOT more records.
I wanted more realistic data.
I wanted the search to be carried out across multiple Attributes rather than just one.

So, try this search…..

It is obviously slower than just the single string that I showed you last time, however, given what it is doing it is still pretty fast for a small server

4,000,000 records and more realistic data. People Names, Company, Address, email, Postal Code..... 1,000,000 records each from USA, UK, Canada and Australia
Each Record has 12 Attributes (4 are not displayed…. two phone numbers and web address and another)

It searches ALL attributes for ALL search terms.

considering that…. it is very fast

hello,
when I first login (before searching), in the paging bar, it says: "1 - 25 of 1305200 items"
and as soon as you page, it changes to: "26 - 50 of 1000 items"
and when I search on 'wonder london gmail' a lot more than 3 records are found.
could it be because I'm using FF?

No..... it is a bug in the navigation bar.

I have raised it with Support.

Trust me..... there are definitely 4,000,000 records there.

I am just upgrading it to incorporate the new input control functionality in V7... Very nice.

As this app is open to anyone to log in..... everyone logs in as Demo1 which it the same person so you might
see a bit of conflict if someone else is trying it out.

I am not quite sure how it behaves under those circumstances. :-/

I'm not sure how this is working. Try this ...

From page 1, click last name header to Sort by Last Name ascending. The last names on page 1 (displaying rows 1 - 25) start with "A"
Manually click the page navigation to get to page 40 to get to the last page that the grid will allow. The last names and the end of page 40 start with "Z"

If there were 4M rows in total sorted by last name, page 40 (displaying rows 976 - 1000) would displaying "Z" last names .. right?

It appears to be read only, so I wouldn't expect there to be any conflicts. Or is there something else going on?
