Data Tags (HTML) to display Image

Hi,

We have a banner bar in HTML which should display an Avatar (Image Attribute) (data tag)

<<LoggedInSystemUser.Avatar>>

If shows missing link instead of the image.

Is there any known issues with this or maybe this is not possible?

I'm using this in V6 & V7 with no problem. Thumbnail is a "Picture" type attribute

Have you changed the name of the folders that Aware uses under Tomacat?
Aware uses "C:\AwareIM7\Tomcat\webapps\AwareIM" folder to put it's temporary image, i.e. "img02980484281052838.jpeg" in that folder. Then when the HTML page is created at server side, it will point to this image in that folder. The error tells me, Aware Can not find that image.

Surprisingly even leaving off the closing > works for me... 😐

I THINK this have something to do with what the image tag does. If you add a <<Object.Image>> tag is adds the entire html snippet required for the image to be displayed in html i.e not just a source path. Take a look in the browser inspector for a image tag and see how it looks.

So we tested now under an AIM box without the \webapps{name of app} changed -

And Mark's fix worked

Now we changed the folder to \webapps\test\ - from AwareIM to test and the image does not show up.

We are on v6 not v7. Can you make any suggestions?

Lars,

When you change the name of the folder after webapps,
how are you doing that?

Are you making ALL of the other necessary edits in various
places also?

Here is the checklist we follow -aside from changing the \webapps{foldername} or anything under \aware_ext_mobile (because we do not use mobile)

\WEB-INF\web.xml
\aware_ext\aware.js
\aware_ext\aware_full.js
\aware_ext\awareApp.js

And if we want the Operations Mode (we add a comment in the BASSERVER.PROPS)

These are the steps I use - thanx to Kingsley Klosson

Change the Webapps/AwareIM folder /myappfolder
Open the file web.xml located in the AwareIM/Tomcat/webapps/app/WEB-INF directory,
search for AwareIM and replace it with 'myappfolder' (One Instance)
Open the file aware.js located in C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\app\aware_ext,
search for AwareIM and replace it with 'myappfolder' (One Instance)
Open the file aware_full.js located in C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\app\aware_ext,
search for AwareIM and replace it with 'myappfolder' (One Instance)
Open UIConfig.props file in C:\AwareIM\bin and add at the bottom of the file:
OperationMode = http://localhost:80/app/logonAdmin.html

Interesting or not, but weird results.

The banner which shows this Avatar was to be used across all roles in system.

We have two roles which are part of the SystemUsers group. (Employee & RegularUser)

If we create an Attribute called Avatar (and commit to both) we can no longer login to the BSV (Odd)
If we remove the Attribute from the Employee object and it only exists in RegularUser we can login again.

The banner if mapped to the <<RegularUser.Avatar>> does not show the image
The banner if mapped to the <<Employee.AvatarPicture>> shows fine.

** We now renamed the Attribute called Avatar to AvatarImg and it works across all

Stranger things but must assume the ObjectGroup is the culprit or the name Avatar is not liked
