Derby Database Client

Does anyone know of a Client or method to be able to access a Derby BASDBTEST database at the same time Aware IM has it open.

I have tried Razor and DBeaver. I can connect to the DB with either but not if Aware IM Control Panel is running.

It is a pain in the butt having to close Aware each time you want to check something behind the scenes in the DB

Have you tried to open the Database with those tools BEFORE you start Aware? This way you should have access to it.

Yes.....tried both ways.

First app to access is fine. Second bombs.

AwareIM uses Derby as an embedded database, so you can not access it while AwareIM is running.

When an application accesses a Derby database using the Embedded Derby JDBC driver, the Derby engine does not run in a separate process, and there are no separate database processes to start up and shut down. Instead, the Derby database engine runs inside the same Java Virtual Machine (JVM) as the application. So, Derby becomes part of the application just like any other jar file that the application uses.

I've been able to poke around SQL Server databases using SSMS while Aware was running. I didn't try to purposely break anything, or delete records, so I don't know about any locking issues that may exist.
