I am specifically using the Chart query from the v7 CRM sample in my mockup. I think that everything that shows up in a panel is the result of a query, right? So, for either a chart or a grid in a panel, the user might want to further filter the results. You can only put about two filters into the Panel header, when it's 25% of a 1920 pixel display width.
So I am thinking to allow the user to open a grid (the result of another query), full width, with the filter row across the top. Unfortunately, date filtering seems very limited in the filter row, as ">" {date} doesn't work, and only retrieves exact matches for the timestamp selected in the dropdown.
So, I think I'll need to do something very like the Sales Portal example, with the date range filters as an outer frame around the grid, if that makes sense.
I think that this touches on some of the "BI" discussions in other threads. I just want to be sure to go as far as possible with native Aware before considering JasperServer or something else for analysis.
Thanks for the reply, and I hope this clarifies my use case.
