BLOMASKY Just starting to play with the reporting. I have a few reports that I designed in Jasper for an old system. Can I reuse the design? Is there a way to export them from Jasper and import them into aware? Thanks Bruce
kklosson I would say this is not feasible. There are many threads here on the Jasper report engine. Long history, much detail. Some users are implementing third party reporting tools. That's is your best path to a more modern report engine.
BLOMASKY So, what 3rd party reporting tools do people like the best? I do NOT need BI (no need for pivot tables, etc.) but need to print, boring, business reports like Invoice registers, Invoices, etc. etc. Thanks Bruce
kklosson I'll add that the built-in report engine, while not glamorous, is perfectly good for most reporting needs. If you can't figure out how to accomplish something, post a message. But first give it a try and get to know what it can do. Don't toss it aside unless it actually fails you in some way. Any alternative is much more work and may not be worth it to you.
