Updating a field with a value from another record.

I am trying to create a new user and require to make one of the fields in the new users profile, the same value as the field in my user profile. i.e. The app handles multiple companies and if a company administrator adds a new user, I require it to enter the same company name in the new user as the company administrators company.

Any help appreciated!!!

Hi,

You can create it in 2 ways like this:

With process:
CREATE User WITH User.Company=Company (this you can use for example when you generate e new user from a process with predefined name, password, etc.)
You can add a Rule in User BO (when an admin of the company enters new user):

If User.Company IS UNDEFINED Then
User.Company=LoggedInUser.Company

Example for a process HOWTO generate a new user. I use this when a create a company and I automatically create the first user(admin) and send an email to his address.

CREATE User WITH User.Company=Company,User.AccessLevel='CompanyAdmin',User.EmailAddress=Company.EmailAddress,User.CreatedOnRegistration='Yes',User.FirstName='User',User.LastName=Company.Name,User.Status='Active',User.PasswordGenerated=GENERATE_PWD(4,10,2,1,0)

More examples could be made and a lot of solutions to implement.
