Updating Child Query 2nd time does not Update Parent UI

I have a VP with a Parent and a child query. (Items is the Parent. Units in the Child)
On the Units (child) query I have a button that starts a process that updates an attribute in the child and also AttributeA in the parent (Items).

I have a rule on Items (parent) that is triggered when AttributeA WAS CHANGED and it updates AttributeB
(Hope I didn't lose you yet!)

It works perfectly for the 1st child I run the process on. (and the UI is updated since I selected that in Advanced), However, 2nd and subsequent actions in the child do NOT update the UI. If I scroll to a new row in the parent I see the change, so I know the process has run, but to summarize, the UI Update only happens the 1st time a related child is updated.

Any Ideas or is this a "bug-e-poo"?

What exactly did you selected in Advanced?

Tom, I selected "Use Rule in Dynamic Recalculation on form"

Again, it works fine for the 1st time I update a child record, then it does not, until I select a new parent record in the grid.

If I understand your scenario correctly, Bruce, you need to have Auto Refresh conditions on both of your queries that are triggered by the process called by the button on the Units (child) query.

I don't see how "dynamic recalculation on form" has any bearing on your scenario. That flag is intended for use on forms, not queries.

I am probably not explaining this well, but I dont want the queries to re-run. If they did, the cursor would not be on the selected record. However, when I do update one of the child records (with my process, it DOES update the parent attribute on the grid for the 1st time I update a child. then if I update other child records the parent attribute does not change (visually), however, when I scroll the cursor off of the record, it does update the value.

Perhaps would be easier to show than try to explain.
