Getting Prepared for V7

BLOMASKY

Since the beta will be here "Any Day" am wondering how soon there might be some documentation available on the differences between V6 and V7

Also, I know where to find the documentation for Sencha for the code I put in the advanced menu option of forms, queries, etc. (stuff like config.tools=[]; config.enableColumnHide=false😉 I use this ALL the time.

Wondering if someone will prepare a document comparing Sencha options like these, to Kendo options.

Thanks
Bruce

I personally doubt anyone is going to go back to document Sencha's functions against Kendo's functions. Too much work and very little benefit.
Let's hope we get a good document on V7 Best Practices and what to avoid doing that V7 doesn't like. Otherwise we could be doing things the way we did before and we could get poor results, because the underpinning library is changed and behaves differently.

I've made a request to Support to provide us with such document.
The big questions will come up as we test and we see things different (than V6), is that a bug or feature changed or limitation or unsupported.

I will politely disagree. Many of us have used Sencha overrides, and we will have to change them to the "Kendos" terminology. For those of us who enter config.enableSortableColumns=false; We will need to change the code to be Kendo's syntax to keep our apps working.

Hi Bruce;
Perhaps my point came across incorrectly. I wasn't disagreeing with your "need or your request". I was simply saying, "I doubt anyone will go that route putting that doc together". Another words, "don't count on it". You may have to step in and do it yourself. That's what I was saying.
