Two attributes, but one used

Hi,

I have a form with two attributes (plain text with a mask). But I want that the user can only fill in one or the other.
So, if attribute A is entered, attribute B must be cleared.
If attribute B is entered, attribute A is cleared.

It must be done on the client (not in a process) directly.

Is there a way to inject and use a script which does this? Anybody tried to do this succesfully?
Or, is there another way to do this?

Tom, don't you mean "PROTECT" and not "READ PROTECT"? Since using READ PROTECT will cause the attribute not show on the form.

Rob, did you also use "Refresh" form and Checked Dynamic on both rules?

I wasn't exactly sure what Rob was trying to accomplish when he said "cleared", but either way the concept for him to explore would be similar.

Hi Guys,

I mean the following:

if an user enters text in Attr A, then text in Attrib is deleted (some kind of OnChange event) immediately.
If the user makes a mistake, he should be able to enter the other Attrib B (and then of course Attrib A is cleared).

So it is a choice and I want to display something like this:

Dear user,

Please enter Code A ór Code B
You cannot enter two codes.

Code A: ................
or
Code B: ...............

///I hope this makes my wish more clear.

Rob,

Make two dynamic rules:

If BO.Att_B IS DEFINED AND BO.Att_B WAS CHANGED Then
BOUser.Att_A=UNDEFINED

If BO.Att_A IS DEFINED AND BO.Att_A WAS CHANGED Then
BO.Att_B=UNDEFINED

There will be no need for a message about not being able to enter two codes because when the user types into one field, the other will be automatically wiped out.
