How to log Failed Login attempts

How can i know if there was an attempt to login the application? or if the user IP is blocked for failing to entering the correct login credentials?

Hi,

You can add like this:

Go to->Notifications-> "Add Login attempt notification"

in this notification you have 2 attributes:
-LoginName
-RemoteAddress

Then create a rule in "When a LoginAttemptNotification is received"

The rule could look like this:

CREATE LoginHistory WITH LoginHistory.LoginUsername=LoginAttemptNotification.LoginName, LoginHistory.RemoteAddressIP=LoginAttemptNotification.RemoteAddress, LoginHistory.TimeOfLogin=CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, LoginHistory.TypeOfLogin='Error'

On some BSVs, I also have a SystemSetting Y/N attribute that indicates if the system should email the administrator upon failed login attempts. I sometimes do this when a new system is being installed so I know when people are having login issues.

I also periodically email the system administrator a log of failed login attempts using info similar to the one in this thread.

I'm actually in the middle of a series of admin features in the system, like user activation, user logins (success/failure), change password and etc. Perfect timing to have nice inputs.

I have noticed that :

I have a guest VP with a RegisterForm. Only if someone is accessing that page a record with :
"BAS_Guest@@ -- IP Address - Success "

But, this I think is created because is a success access of Guest VP.
