MariaDB or MySQL?

bmeyns

In 2009 MySQL (since the acquisition by Oracle), has been forked to MariaDB (100% open-source). MySQL development has been continued by Oracle, but less transparent.

Does Aware IM officially supports also MariaDB? Or should we follow the uncertain MySQL Oracle track?

cishpix

Aware IM already support MariaDB on release 2052.

I already try it and it works on Windows or Linux too.

Your welcome.
I'm happy that we'll use the same system. We can share the experience.

Great day,

I success try connect from ubuntu to percona and then success connect from ClearOS (CentOS based) to MariaDB. All of them is running on localhost but I'm failed when try connect from ubuntu to RDS with MariaDB.

Have you try it on RDS with MariaDB before?

No, I haven't tried MariaDB, yet.

Its okay. maybe I will check it later.

But from Windows 2012, the Aware IM run correctly with MariaDB on RDS of AWS.
