Air Asia has some very cheap flights on Sale at the moment for Sydney>Bali.

Just got return flights, including baggage and payment fees, for AUD$425 return. They are direct flights too.

Jetstar had some good ones too, not quite as cheap.

For those planning on coming from the USA, I can also suggest the following....

You should be able to get cheap flights from anywhere in continental USA to Vancouver.

Then, the flights Vancouver to Jakarta (via Narita in Japan) are very cheap. Once you are in Jakarta, it is only
a short 1hr 50min flight to Bali and Air Asia do regular return economy flights for $89 USD.
