For anyone who is not familiar with the term “Ludicrous Speed”, close your computer and go watch a copy of “Space Balls”!
Or, as Tom Cruise said in Top Gun: "I have the need... The need for SPEED!"
Now that we are talking about speed, some questions, since an application is never TOO fast.
1) System Settings has memory options for Aware IM Server, Tomcat and configuration tool. What are the optimum choices. (Assuming running on a server that has lots of RAM.
2) SQL Indexes. I am using MS SQL for my system. I notice I can create indexed attributes in Aware, but they are only for a single attribute. Assuming my application will query (or filter) on 2 or more attributes, and there are lots of rows, and I create the multi-segment index in SQL, can I assume this will speed up queries, or does Aware force “hints” to the underlying DB
3) What server to run on? Forgetting the cost factor (yes, a Linux server can be much cheaper than a windows box), Since Aware uses JDBC drivers to connect to the backend database, can I expect similar performance on either a Linux, Windows or OS X Server?
4) Talking about OSX, I am developing on a mac and have seen some “flaky” behavior in the configuration tool. It seems like running Aware on Windows 10 (under Parallels) seems a tad more stable. Can anyone share their experiences with OSX and Windows for development
Thanks
Bruce
