Does email in AwareIM work with an Exchange Server

also where does the API key get reference in AwareIM?
does it go in the the system settings someplace under the email credentials?

The api key is the outgoing mail server password on system settings.

I made the RegularUser BO intellegent, should I make the SystemSettings BO intellegent as well?
Once I get the email process working I Will need to send email notifications to certain users.

I don't see why SystemSettings should be "Intelligent". As SystemSettings object doesn't get sent via email.

The from does show as awareinfo@.... but the mail180......@mandrill.com can that be hidden somehow?

Yes, you can use the email address used to create the account. It's just used for authentication along with the API key / password.

You don't NEED to make SystemSettings intelligent to send email notifications, but if you check out my earlier post, I always make it intelligent for email testing in my BSVs.

I got it to send one email, now it looks like it wont send again.
Will continue to check it out....

Re: pricing question -- Mandrill offers a huge number of free emails each month if you have a MailChimp account (which we do).

Even at $9.95 / month for 25,000 emails, it's a no-brainer in my mind. SendGrid is a popular/professional SMTP service as well that offers 40,000 emails for $9.95 / month.

Not sending to an Object Group, just using RegularUser BO which I made intelligent.
Tried it with the setting set to use the system setting and tried it with the settings set to use local settings where you can set them right on the RegularUser BO under the Intelligent tab. No email is being sent?

I looked at the log and it show's no errors. The process is running. Is there an other log I can look at that shows me AwareIM trying to connect the the Exchange Server?

I know this is suppose to be a simple process, but I must be missing something simple for it not to work.
We proved with IT that we can send emails from this account.

Is there any other setting that needs to be set any port for firewall setting? The firewall is off on this machine.

Have you explored "send as" settings on the Exchange side?

Yes, the IT person said that is used if you want to send using a different email address other than the one for the logged in account.
Is there a log in AwareIM that shows you AwareIM connecting to the mail server?

After struggling with getting Exchange and trying to get it to work to no avail I decided to use Amazon Web services SES Simple Email Solution.
Once I entered the email address I wanted to send messages to and verified them and got the credentials from SES I entered them into the systemsettings BO and BAM! worked on the first try....
SES may not me a solution for everyone but for the process I am creating it will work just fine.

I noticed AWS now has WorkMail which looks pretty nice and is very cheap.
From what I can see though.... it uses Exchange and does not yet support IMAP or POP

I have tried setting it up and testing wit Apple Mail and Airmail.... works brilliantly and easily.

Has anyone tried using it for Aware IM yet? Any joy?
