Does email in AwareIM work with an Exchange Server

Hello,

Incoming mail server choices are only POP or IMAP, will AwareIM working with an Exchange Server?
I am trying to get this setup correctly so I can start sending out Alerts as needed.

I have outgoing mail setup with MS Exchange on a runtime account. There was difficulty setting it up relating to certificates between the systems. I had a good consultant on the case and he struggled but won.

So was there other things you had to do in AwareIM beside just enter the email info in SystemSettings?
Did he have to make changes on the Exchange server?

All the work was on the Exchange side.

After entering the systemsetting for my own email info using icloud.com
I receive this error when trying to send en email.
Does anyone know what this means?
I can only guess that it cannot connect to the mail service i an trying to use?

You must have an incorrect rule that sends an email. You are using a string instead of an intelligent entity to send the email to.

No, in the BO I checked off Intelligent of Type Person or Organization. Both Active and Default Channel are checked.
For testing purposed I created a Query of Regular Users and added a button to display on each row. Passing the Regular User BO it will call the process to send the email.
Just to I have a record. I display message to see the current user and email address. then I send the email.

DISPLAY MESSAGE RegularUser.LoginName+' '+RegularUser.EmailAddress
SEND OutgoingEmail TO RegularUser.EmailAddress

This is vary similar to the CRM Send Alert example.
Not sure what I am missing here?

Should be:
SEND OutgoingEmail TO RegularUser

How does it pick up the to email address then?
Does it automatically use the email address added when you select intelligent on the BO and Person or Organization?

Well I don't get the error any more, but the email is still not being sent or recieved?
I verified the setting with IT and they are able to send and receive emails to and from this account.

Did you change any of this?

Roger, just thought of something.
Are you sending the email to an ObjectGroup or and Object, i.e. SystemUser is an Object Group.

If You're sending to an ObjectGroup, then ALL objects withing that Group MUST be "Intelligent" to have the attribute EmailAddress.
Let me know!

Another thing to check, make sure there is no READ PROTECT on EmailAddress for that object.

I made the Object RegularUsers Intelligent
I created the OutGoingEmail Notification
Then I created a query for RegularUsers and added a link to call the sendEmailTest Process
In the process I have one line
SEND OutgoingEMail TO RegularUser

Sounds about right.
in the process, right before SEND, put a DISPLAY MESSAGE ReqularUser.EmailAddress to show you what the value is at that moment. Many times I was surprise to see there was no value. Check it.

I did that. I pass the BO RegularUser from the Query
I added the Display Message to display the Login Name and EmailAddress and they displayed.
