I would like when upgrading versions of AwareIM to:

Have ALL memory settings retained.
Have it prompt for web folder name and update the appropriate files accordingly.
Leave undeleted all files and folders within the AwareIM folder structure that start with a predetermined character naming convention such as NSTD or NONAWAREIM. In other words developers can introduce functionality within AwareIM and not have it removed from each installation. This means we would only have to put back changes that involved the manipulation of AwareIM files themselves.

Hi Rod,

We use WinAutomation which runs a script that re-instates everything you need
to do after an update.

Re-instates our web site
Rebuilds our tomcat server.xml for hosts and SSL
Re-instates our specifics files, CSS, html, images, JavaScript
Re-instates startup.html changes
Makes all the changes to every files necessary for renaming AwareIM folder
etc, etc.

By hand it takes at least 20 mins.

But now, it takes 3 seconds and automatically restarts the Aware IM server.

Thanks Mark. I do something similar but a little more mechanical. Just think that AwareIM could with minimal fuss put these things in which would be of benefit to all especially those that have little IT knowledge.
